Michael Sheen’s fantastic performance as Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? host Chris Tarrant in ITV minisseries Quiz has earned him another nomination, this time as best actor at this year’s BAFTA Cymru Awards, his third in the awards so far – he has been nominated for his performances in The Gospel of Us, which he won, and in Apostle. Michael Sheen has been announced as one of the presenters of this year’s Moving Image Awards, which will take place online on Monday February 15. He joins other names like Edgard Wright, Jo Whiley and Anna Smith:
Hollywood star, and award-winning actor Michael Sheen has been added to the line-up of guest presenters at this year’s Moving Image Awards.
Joining him will be a stellar cast including Peter Lord (Aardman Animations), TV comedian Sarah Pascoe, and broadcasting legend Jo Whiley – so make sure you have your calendars marked (Monday 15th February, 2021) and popcorn at the ready!
Commenting on the event , Rebecca Ellis, WJEC’s Film Studies Subject Officer, said: “This year, we have the privilege of welcoming some very special guest presenters alongside our fabulous event host Anna Smith (BBC, SKY, Girls on Films Podcast). We are thrilled that Michael Sheen and Peter Lord CBE are amongst our fantastic guests awarding student work this year.’
The ceremony has gained recognition from teachers and lecturers of film and media courses at institutions across the UK, as well as leading figures in the film industry.

Yesterday, November 4, Michael Sheen was one of the presenters of this year’s Spirit of Fire Awards, created by The Fire Fighters Charity to celebrate the achievements of their beneficiaries and supporters. He made an appearance during the online ceremony to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to former County Durham and Darlington firefighter Harold Binyon.
